September 2019 – The Africa Orphan Program provided funds for the construction of a church at Nyumbani Village. The children at Nyumbani Village have never had a true church. They have always met for Mass in a building that was used for many other things which made it difficult to have a reverential service on Sundays. This new church will have seating for between 600 and 1,000 people, depending on the configuration. This will allow all 1,000 children at Nyumbani Village to attend Mass together for, possibly, the first time. The church has been under construction for several months and will be finished by the end of this year at which time it will be consecrated and begin to have Masses celebrated in it.
