Mission and Values

The mission of this program is to provide an opportunity for orphans throughout Africa get an education so as to be able to help themselves escape crippling poverty.  Helping them help themselves rather than providing a handout creates a healthy situation where they are part of the solution.  This approach helps to build within the individual child the belief that they can succeed, thereby increasing the odds of individual successes and therefore the program as a whole.  Children enter the program at different levels; it may be primary school (elementary school) for some, secondary school (high school) for others or even trade school or university.  Regardless of the level at which they enter the program they remain in the program through trade school or university and upon completion are equipped to move into society, provide for themselves and even return the favor to other young orphans.

The values instilled through the program are paramount to its success.  It is our belief that every child should have the opportunity to be raised in a holistic environment.    We want the children to be in a “family” environment, surrounded by other children and at least one adult, and have the opportunity to experience God’s love.  In this program, in addition to their education needs, their safety, medical, nutritional and spiritual needs are met.

Family of kids,

Family of kids,

When the child has someone to love them every day, does not have to worry about being safe, receives good medical attention when necessary, eats warm healthy meals every day and grows in their relationship with God they are able to focus on their education.  They are better able to “help themselves”.
