Children in sub-Saharan Africa, including Kenya, are many times not able to pursue an education due to the ravages of malaria, one of the most difficult diseases to eradicate. In the area of Bungoma, Kenya this is especially true because malaria is very prevalent there. One of the most common and effective ways to prevent malaria is to sleep under a high quality mosquito net (bednet) which the poor cannot afford. Typically three people sleep under one mosquito net.
Through separate fundraising the Program has been able to provide enough mosquito nets to protect almost 26,000 of the most needy people in the Bungoma, Kenya area. This allowed many poor children and orphans to continue their education and in many cases begin education for the first time.
